The Curvy Goddess Chronicles – 100 Day Plus Size Workout Fitness Challenge

Feeling kind of lethargic a month ago
I finally went back to the gym; not to train clients but to start moving my sorry butt again. Like all of my fellow Curvy Goddesses who have not worked out in a long time because of some excuses that exist in our heads, I go through the same stuff.

Some of my excuses that prevented me from starting a plus size workout:

– I have no time
– I can’t afford a personal trainer
– I hate being around people when I workout
– I don’t like any of the classes at this place

The excuses go on and on but at the end of the day the only person that loses out is me.

I know what it’s like to be fit and healthy.

I know what it’s like to feel like I’m in my 20s again because I have the cardiovascular stamina and the energy of a 20 year old from exercising.

I know what it feels like to slip into something slinky because I’m comfortable in my skin.

I know what it feels like to laugh from no apparent reason but because I’ve got this energy in me that wants to let loose.

All of these feelings come from one simple act…exercise.

How can someting so simple result in so many miraculous experiences? I can’t answer that but I know that I will always have access to it if I am committed to exercise.

It’s not good enough just wanting to exercise. As a NYC personal trainer I hear that all the time from those who talk to me over the phone and tell me their “story”.

“Well, Diane I really want to lose 50 pounds by June…and I want…”

“I know that I need to exercise because I have been feeling really tired lately and I’m breaking down. My back keeps hurting…and I want…”

“I really really want to be a size 10…and I want…”

But they never meet me or I start training them and they stop after 3 or 4 weeks.

I understand that my clients and the ones I speak to over the phone whom I never meet are my teachers.

Something clicked today. Maybe it was the warm weather and that feeling of wanting to peel the layers.

Maybe it was that inspirational blog post from Emmie.

Maybe it was really listening to my client today who had to cancel but made sure she did not miss her plus size workouts for the week. Even when she doesn’t feel like it, she still does it because she’s committed. And that’s why she has lost 20 pounds of bodyfat.

I went to my gym, Equinox for the first time in a long…LONG time. All I planned to do is move my body and that’s what I did.

I moved my body doing some cardio for 75 minutes. Some elliptical. Some stationary bike. Didn’t plan to go so long but was really feeling great!

After doing so it inspired me to create my 100 Day Plus Size Workout Fitness Challenge. So it begins.
