Because of its name I think people mistakenly think that this is just a leg exercise but it does so much more. It’s a balance exercise and a glutes, hips flexors, and core exercise. For many of my clients it looks simple but when done properly they discover it’s really not that simple.

Make sure that you’re standing straight up activating your core; pulling up from your abdominals and relaxing your arms. Pull one knee up as high as possible directing it to your chest. You probably will not be able to bring the knee to your chest but I want you to pull the knee as high as possible to the chest.

Repeat 15 times and change to the other knee.

Home Exercise for Weight Loss #4 – Plank

This is by far one of the best exercises for teaching stabilization using the core region and also includes upper body strength development. A plank using your forearms is usually difficult for a beginner and even going into a full push-up position off of your knees. So I usually start my Curvy Goddesses in a push-up position with knees on the ground.
You want to squeeze your buttocks together while holding this position for 20-30 seconds to start.

Repeat 7 times.

    That is such a creative list of home workout ideas. I haven’t been in a gym in over a decade and I am in the best shape of my life. I am a landscaper and I get a great workout from doing that, plus because of the heat I sweat off a lot of extra pounds too.

    I also went vegetarian this year which helped me to easily lose ten pounds.

  7. I am all for the home fitness. The problem for me for a long time has been not having the energy to do it. I have been using a diet supplement called Phen375 for a while now and it has boost my energy and metabolism way up, and I have lost all the weight that I wanted to lose. The weight doesn’t just fall off immediately but you do see results. I stopped taking them right now because I don’t want to lose any more, but if I see myself gaining weight again then I will definitely be back on them.

There was this personal trainer at a gym nearby who wanted to beat the official women’s world record at doing the plank recently – did you ever know there was such a thing?   15. Great post. Home workouts are what I’m all about right now lol. I’ve got too many things to spend on and just couldn’t afford my gym and crossfit fees so I’ve decided to give bodyweight workouts a go for a month or two. So far I’m liking the possibilities even with limited gear :).

    My basic exercises are squats, pushups, situps, lunges, good mornings, and mt climbers.

    I also look for other bodyweight workouts online whenever I feel like switching it up. Actually thinking of buying kettlebells to add some variety and some resistance training. I have dumbels tho but don’t use em as much right now.

  17. One can loose by keeping some basic thing in mind. One should not overeat, drink lots of water, eating the right foods at right time. One should try to walk smaller distance on foot, try to take staircase instead of lifts or escalator.

    Apart from all this one should devote around an hour daily in exercise which would help in burning the extra fat. Doing exercise or hitting the gym is not an easy thing to do instead it requires a very great deal dedication and devotion for the weight loss.

    If the person is not able to loss the weight after all such efforts then only one thing that can help that person is that he or she has to for the surgery for removing the access fat from the body.

  20. Hi girls! Less than two years ago I had to see a dietitian because I was so underweight it was abnormal. I fought hard for my curves (and yes, I have them now) and I wouldn’t wanna lose them! I just didn’t feel womanly or sexy – more boyish and adolescent,lol. One thing I have had to deal with since I gained all my weight though is cellulite. Its definitely worth it; I would hate to be skinny again; but I do what I can to minimise cellulite. I have a good page on how to get rid of cellulite by using a combination of essential oils and massage. It does seem to help. Most of all though girls – lose weight only if you are unhealthily over weight, I adore my curves and firmly believe that it is how us women should be.

Initially it was to make myself “walk” to the TV to flip channels, but when I realized what a rotten pain that was, I stopped watching as much TV! Now I’m up and about more, just generally more active, which is doing great things for me!!

Also the diet as you mention not eating too many processed foods and high sugar carb foods is important. I guess it all comes down to the basics.

  26. Home based workouts are excellent. I am a gym lover myself, but after joining a company a year or two ago that offered home based workouts I really started to get into them. I used to make fun of them, but they are actually very good. Sometimes life is just too busy to go to a gym. Even if it’s only 10 minutes away the 10 minutes there and back adds up to 20. That’s a big chunk that could be used for something else.

  28. I love walking! I didn’t realise how fit it was keeping me (I used to walk 90 mins a day to and from work) until I moved house and my daily walks stopped. Now bits of me are flabby and unlike they’ve ever been… I can never incorporate exercise for its own sake into my life other than yoga which I love, so errrrr. time to move house again!!!

    You can also do the housecleaning and get a small workout at the same time, just strap on wrist weights and ankle weights I do it when I’m cleaning the house i.e. dusting, vacuum and take care of the laundry.

    Besides that you can boost the weight loss by drinking green tea, just remember that the water should be only between 70 and 80 degrees celsius, otherwise you will lose the good things in teen and it will also make it taste bitter.
